Kestrel Teacher

The old Gods are called and are calling and my intention of peace and love is declared. The Fire sprites leaping into the dark Air, licking the edge of my brow, the Water flows around my circles edge and the Earth beckons me below. As the heartbeat of the Earth begins to rise, I descend into the womb and rise into the trees with wings of freedom. ‘Fly, Fly my lad and drink in the ecstasy of Freedom’, my guide pushes me from my branch and with a moment of panic and a moment of ecstasy, I am that Kestrel fair.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We emerge from the dark womb tomb to the first crack of light of the dawning of our new journey in the East, here we meet Kestrel. The Kestrel People are those who know the mysteries of vision and inspiration, here we find the Seer,Dream-Weavers, whose messages bring us clarity of vision.
Kestrel brings the inspiration of awaking, the first breath of the new soul journey, the sharp light of dawn piercing the dark of womb, the still promise of unknowable mystery. We face the fear of making that first footfall along the road that will carry us. As eyes grow sharp on the cutting fresh breeze we see beyond the blindness of our reality, and find clarity and vision in Natures patterns. Prayers carried on the spun web of words and intention, Awen carried by the feathers on the wing, and we fly.
The Kestrel Drum is a Red Deer Stag Drum soaked in water from a local chalk spring and steeped with tree barks, plants and herbs from the North Downs. The drum is plain and undecorated to symbolise the new unknowable journey. The only decoration is on the wooden rim, painted with earth pigments.
