Forest Bathing

Forest Bathing is the practice and art of immersing yourself within a Natural environment, particularly within a forest or woodland, to bring about a sense of well-being, healing and renewal. While it is not literally bathing in the sense of swimming or bathing, it is the immersive experience of being in a woodland or forest surrounded by Nature and your interaction with that environment.

The term Forest Bathing originated in Japan, where it is known as Shinrin-Yoku, Shinrin in Japanese means ‘Forest’ and Yoku means ‘Bath’.

Nature Nurturing

This practice has been carried out for thousands of years, many indigenous cultures spend time in Nature to heal, to deepen their connection to the cycle of life, to mark their transitions in life. Rob has trained as a Forest Therapy Guide and has rooted the practice in this very land, drawing on literature, direct experience and teachings of the heritage and history of woodlands, Druidry and folklore of Britain. This therapy draws on this ancient wisdom, understood through modern science and our innate need to connect with nature. This therapy is useful to restore, re-balance and heal the body, the mind and the spirit.
