Being a member of the Woodspirit Grove requires a high level of commitment and engagement with the gatherings. The Grove is semi-closed, which means we do not accept every requested to join and folk are vetted first. If you are interested in joining, then its important you explore all the grove pages here to ensure you get an idea of the shape and feel of the grove. Once you have done that and feel it may be right for you, then email Rob directly or send a message from the websites Contact Us page.
There is an expectation that the minimum engagement is that you attend all eight seasonal festival gatherings. You need to have affinity with or a calling to work with the grove ethos and be willing to work within that tradition when the grove meets, yet you don't need to identify as a Druid or had any formal training within the tradition. You need to be able to travel to and meet outdoors (when possible) within the Broughton-in-Furness & Coniston areas of the Lake District National Park. Each member expresses their own individuality, their own expression of their paganism, journey and lives, yet holds the grove as a deep well of inspiration and a foundation to their spiritual practice, from which they can deeply drink and find their true connection to the guardian of the grove.
When working this way strong bonds can form, yet there is no expectation to meet or form friendships outside of the grove, unless you choose to do so. This isn't a therapy group! While work together the tide of emotion can ebb and flow, healing isn't a focus but can occur, however this grove is purely about us expression our spirituality in a like minded community, and while you may wish to call on individuals or the group for support, its not automatically given.
